100% Syrah
Often described as a Booker flagship, Fracture is one of the world’s great Syrahs. Only the softest Syrah in barrel makes the cut for this dense and powerful wine. The namesake pays homage to the calcareous soil in our vineyard, the limestone causes it to ‘fracture’. Fracture is our most consistent wine and the 19 vintage is no different. Inky black as always, it shows off intense aromas of graphite, gun powder, and blackberry cobbler. The flavors on the palate mirror the aromas and yet are almost completely eclipsed by the sheer weight, volume, and length of this graceful giant. The finish is even bigger than the previous 2017 or 2018 vintage with notes of double espresso and seared rib eye on the close. Do not fool yourself and play mind games, buy big here.

BLEND: 100% Grenache
Often described as “one of the most beautiful wines” we make at Booker, Ripper is pure 100% Grenache from the estate. Aged in concrete and 500L puncheons with only about 30% new French oak, Ripper gives way to rose petals on the nose and leads to a mid-palate that is silky and ready to indulge now. The finish is well over a minute long, exploding with ripe strawberries and a cherry. It is polished off with excellent acidity that really makes this wine pop and shine. Ripper has become an extremely consistent wine over the last few vintages, you can rest assured that the 2019 extended-aged version is going to be a home run!

BLEND: 34% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 27% Mourvèdre, 4% Tannat, 4% Petite Sirah
Oublié’s blend is always Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre – our California version of a Châteauneuf du Pape. The namesake is a play on the French term for “forgotten”. Rhône varietals grow beautifully on our estate and we believe that they are far-too-often forgotten when you think of a California wine. Deep ruby/purple in color, this hearty expression of a Paso GSM boasts confident notes of boysenberry, licorice and cedar on the nose. On the palate, the taster is rewarded with lively flavors of raspberry coulis mingled with blonde roast coffee and chocolate ganache. For lovers of Mourvèdre, this vintage of Oublié will show off. It drinks bolder than prior vintages, mostly because the Mourvèdre was so special in 19. Oublié is traditionally one of our most food-friendly wines and should pair well with most dishes.

48 % Syrah, 47% Mourvèdre, 3% Grenache, 2% Viognier
Vertigo is our Syrah-heavy "G-S-M". It is spicy, structured, and always performs. The name is a nod to the steepness of the hillside on our estate where we grow the fruit for this wine. The 2019 extended aged vintage is a startling wine. A legendary wine. It is so rare when a wine shows this much power and finesse. The viognier brings a sense of elegance early on your palate and then a nice balance of acid kicks off the party with a pop of brightness. It’s the lead-off batter, then comes the number 3, 4, 5 batters with a perfectly soft dive right into the finish. Dark fruits overcome the wine and then take you home for a finish that is as long as you can find. This is such a fun, beautiful wine that can be paired with food but it's perfectly acceptable to drink alone chilling by the firepit.

Tempranillo is the smallest planting on the Booker estate and thus the smallest production of all of the Booker wines. We rarely make more than 200 cases of this wine each vintage.
"While I’m still perplexed as to why the early bottling of Temp got very tight and reductive once it was bottled, the extended will be ready to drink sooner. With either bottling you are best served to splash decant. However, the extended version is showing more cards than the early bottling and can be enjoyed now or held for the next 25 years. The wine shows the blackest of fruits in the mid-palate, but starts with a shot of espresso and dark chocolate, followed by a seamless flow across the tongue. I believe this wine will get better with a year of cellaring but is plenty enjoyable now"! - Eric Jensen
